George Berger, whom TK often talked about on the radio show and worked for the PGA after running the Presidents' Cup in DC, suddenly died the other day.
Lenny Shapiro wrote about Berger in the Post today.

Getting some of the band back together
TK's new show at Post Radio won't have andy or gary, but it will have Nigel.
It can now be revealed (we had heard this last week, but wasn't sure it was for public consumption yet) that Marc Sterne has left WTEM to work at WTWP on the all-new TK show (starting 2/20 @ 8.30 AM).
Great news, but we'll miss Sterno's baseball round-up. Maybe TK will allow visits from Uncle Morty.

POST RADIO lands TK
Well, it wasn't 980 after all. How do you like that?
TK will be starting in February on Washington Post Radio (WTWP) and not WTEM.
DCRTV says that Legendary Postie Ben Bradlee put in a call to TK that may have swayed his decision.
Who will be his sidekick? Will Andy Polley leave his longtime home at 980 ? not likely. What about Gary "Big Time" Braun, last heard on XXX as part of the John Riggins Show? maybe.
Our suggestion: pair TK with the Post's Sports Bogger, Dan Steinberg. He's funny, he knows sports, he works for the Post and currently writes in the paper in that same Page 2 spot where TK used to do his columnettes.

Danny Boy gets a piece of Mr Tony
As reported by DCRTV and confirmed by people in the DC area who listened to the Riggo Show today, Dan Snyder's XXX ESPN station will be carrying PTI on the radio.
You may recall that PTI used to broadcast on ESPN Radio at 7 PM ET a few years ago. How long ago? Chuck Wilson was still on Gamenight right after it.
Likely, that's the only way the Danny will have Mr. Tony on his airways.
Gossip sites like DCRTV (and even the Post) say TK will be choosing between 980 and the Post Radio Station if he comes back to radio before (likely) a second season (sigh) of MNF with Joey the Tongue and That Nice Young Man Mikey Tirico.
Our sources (which do extend beyond reading other peoples' websites and bitching about places that banned you) say nothing is imminent and the big meeting at 980 last week was not TK-related, but had to do with a shuffling of Clear Channel suits.

It's official
Monday Night Football will have a new broadcast team when it debuts on ESPN in 2006.
Mike Tirico, Joe Theismann and Tony Kornheiser will be part of a three-man booth calling the games on Monday nights next season and Suzy Kolber and Michelle Tafoya will be sideline reporters.
Kolber and Tafoya both reported from the sidelines for ABC during Super Bowl XL.
Also, ESPN announced that Mike Breen will be its new lead NBA play-by-play announcer, teaming with analyst Hubie Brown for ABC telecasts beginning Feb. 12 and including the NBA Finals.
"This Monday Night Football team enthusiastically embraces our vision for sports television's signature series. We will propel MNF into a 21st century, all-day, exclusive, multi-media event that will engage fans in entirely new ways. This team will develop great chemistry," ESPN Executive Vice President John Skipper said.
"Mike Breen is widely respected for his depth of NBA knowledge and his consummate play-by-play skill. We are very excited to provide such a spectacular forum as the NBA Finals to showcase his talents."
In addition, Kornheiser and Michael Wilbon will take Pardon The Interruption on the road on Mondays during the football season. The shows will air from the site of ESPN's Monday Night Football games."We look to the future with great enthusiasm and a strong commitment to enhance the presentation of the NFL and the NBA, two of our most important sports properties," ESPN and ABC Sports President George Bodenheimer said.

TK returns
Yes, Tony is back. from vacation, not "vacation."
-- TK played golf with Hootie again. Despite playing "the best golf of his life," TK and George Burger got smoked.
-- What was up with the 4-letter skipping DC on their "50 states in 50 days" tour? TK explains how some dope wanted to come on and talk about it, but he didn't post.
-- Wilbon talked about what TK missed while he was on vacation. Also, whether Celine Dion is his favorite vocalist.
-- TK also talked about a copy-editor from the Post who passed away in a kayaking accident.
